OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — Lucy Mae Jones, age 103, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at NHC HealthCare Center.

She was born Aug. 18, 1907, in Lone Mountain, Tenn., the daughter of Andrew T. Hopper and Cynthia Jackson Hopper.

Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, working puzzles, fishing, gardening and flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Thomas T. Jones, in 1980; brothers, George, Frank, Clyde, Tilman and Fred Hopper; and her stepmother, Kate Boyd Hopper.

She is survived by son, Tom T. Jones Jr., and wife, Betty, of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Ronnie Jones and wife, Sandy, of Karns, Sandra Jones of Chattanooga, and Denny Jones and wife, Teresa, of Clinton; great-grandchildren, Jeannie Tennent and husband, Josh, Derek Jones, MaKenzie Jones, Veronica Jones and husband, James, and Lexie Jones; great-great-grandchild, Jace Tennent; special niece, Loretta Gladson and husband, Orville, of Rogersville; and special friends, Tom and Claudia Raudorf of Oak Ridge.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of NHC HealthCare Center and to Caris Hospice for the care, support and compassion shown to Mrs. Jones.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Weatherford Mortuary.
