The firm was founded in 2003 in Shoreditch, London, by Australian ex-pats Geoffrey J. Finch and Ashe Peacock as a retail store, public relations and wholesale agency, specializing in Australian and New Zealand fashion including Alice McCall, Karen Walker, and Gail Sorronda.
In 2006, Ashe Peacock and Geoffrey J. Finch collaborated with Peacock's sister Fenella, the woman behind 1980s label Empire Line, to create a capsule offering for the store, featured the type of basics not made by the labels they represented..[1]
After the initial success of this first offering, the trio decided to continue the range, launching their first collection 'Buttons Up' at London Fashion Week 2006. In January 2008, British TV presenter and former fashion model Alexa Chung was announced as the face of Antipodium's Spring Summer 08 collection.
